Having a desire to encourage and challenge themselves, two lecturers of Study Program of Japanese Literature, Dewi Puspitsari, M.Hum. and Eka Marthanty Indah Lestari, M.Sc. participated in the 9th ICTEL 2019 (International Conference on Teaching, Education & Learning) held in Singapore on 25-26 June 2019. This conference itself is an annual event held in Asia and Europe.
Presenting the result of their research entitled The Implementation of Repeated Reading Methods in the Students of the Japanese Literature Study Program, they applied techniques commonly used for English learners who have difficulty in reading, into the Japanese learning process. The adoption of this technique certainly required some adjustments since it’s applied to different language. Moreover, to control the effectiveness of this method, they also had to give questions related to the reading material provided.
By attending and participating in this conference, these two young lecturers were optimistic that they would get lots of input to improve the method applied in this research. Thus, they will gain more opportunity to improve the quality of their students.
