Malang, East Java – The Study Programme of Japanese Literature under the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) has successfully elevated its accreditation status from “A” to “Unggul”. This esteemed status upgrade was declared through a Decree issued by The Director of the Executive Board of the National Accreditation Body for Higher Education (BAN-PT), bearing Reference Number: 395/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/S/II/2023. The decree pertains to the Accreditation Rank Conversion of the Japanese Literature Program at the Bachelor’s Degree Level of Universitas Brawijaya and bears the signature of Professor Ari Purbayanto, Ph.D.
Effective from February 7, 2023, until August 16, 2027, this accreditation status marks a significant milestone.
Previously, the Study Programme of Japanese Literature attained an “A” accreditation status on August 16, 2022. With the recent conversion of the accreditation rank, there is an expectation that the Study Programme of Japanese Literature of FCS UB will further enhance its quality, particularly in Japanese Linguistics, Literature, and Cultural Studies.
Additionally, it is anticipated that this newfound status will ignite a renewed sense of enthusiasm and dedication among the academic community, notably the students, fostering their personal and academic growth within the Humanities domain. Furthermore, this achievement is anticipated to bring substantial benefits to Indonesian society at large.

- “Unggul” translates to “Excellent”. To be awarded this status, Universities have to achieve “A” accreditation rank and meet the criteria for receiving the “Unggul” status or the highest level of accreditation.
