Malang, March September 26 th 2023 –The students of Study Programme of Japanese Literature FCS UB have returned with wonderful stories after completing Kanazawa University Short-Stay Program (KU-SSP). Kanazawa University Short-Stay Program 2023 (KU-SSP) is a program held by Kanawa University, Japan which intends to introduce Kanazawa University, Kanazawa City and Japan. Not only that, in this program, students were required to polish their Japanese language skill through the Japanese language learning and on-site experience, also deepening relations between Kanazawa University and its partner university. This program provides valuable experience for the students to explore the world through their short adventure in foreign campuses.
Participants of KU-SSP spent two weeks in Japan, learning new culture, meeting other international students and gaining broader knowledge about the educational system and campus life in Japan.

One of the participants, Gavriel Pradiansyah, a Japanese Language student FCS UB mentioned, “I am very lucky because I obtained treasured experiences by staying in Japan and it is also strengthening relations between Kanazawa University and Study Programme of Japanese Literature Universitas Brawijaya.” Gavriel took various classes during the KU-SSP program, including Japanese language class, Japanese history, Medieval, Edo and Meiji era calendar.
During the program, Gavriel was not only enjoying interesting lectures, but also exploring many historical places as well as digging deeper about Japanese culture. Gavriel visited historical sites that were rich with past stories, making them directly experience the historical atmosphere of that particular site. One of the sites that was visited is Akitsuneyama Tumulus (Ancient Japanese Cemetery). Other than that, Gavriel also joined a cultural exchange program intended to introduce the abundance of Indonesian culture. In this project, Gavriel became the Indonesian cultural ambassador with whom he shares knowledge and beauty of Indonesian culture. Gavriel also explained about the ancient Majapahit kingdom as part of the presentation content. Thus, Gavriel was not only the ‘receiver’, but also actively promoted understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity in this world.
