One Step Further: Student Exchange of UB Students to Makassar

Malang, March 6th 2024 ― Stepping further from the classroom and breaking the distance limitation is the goal of every student who is eager for adventure and new knowledge. It is reflected in the story of one of the FCS UB students who took a brave step to join the Independent-Student Exchange (PMM) to Universitas Bosowa in Makasar.

One of the participants was Aqshal Ilham Ramadana, a student in his semester 7 from FCS UB. Aqshal shares his wonderful journey during the days of joining the activity.

Aqshal mentioned, “My first impression of PMM was varied, from sharing knowledge about religion, culture, local customs to getting to know many friends from various regions. However, the most invaluable thing for me was befriending people who think of me as their family. I feel so pleased and free of boredom while being with them, and also grateful that I was able to have a tour and learn about Makassar city, South Sulawesi, with friends from all over Nusantara.”

During the stay in Makassar, the participants were not only exposed to the campus environment. They also had the chance to explore the beauty of nature and cultural richness in South Sulawesi. From enjoying signature culinary to visit remarkable tourist attractions such as Kelenteng Xian Ma, Leang-Leang Ancient Park, Kajang Village, Tana Toraja and many more. It was truly a an authentic local life with its unique features.
