Collaboration with Study Programme’s Partner, PT Onodera User Run Indonesia Implementing Independent Study-Independent Campus (MBKM) Program
The Study Programme of Japanese Literature (SPJL) FCS UB worked together with PT Onodera User Run Indonesia implementing the MBKM program. As a response to the cooperation, since Odd Semester in 2023, SPJL sent a number of students to join activities under the MBKM program. This cooperation intends to provide practical experiences in the industry to the students and also to broaden network as well as career opportunities after graduation.
In this era of education advancement, the spirit of learning is limitless and becoming the primary key for the students to achieve their success. It is reflected from the active participation of SPJL students at PT. Onodera User Run Indonesia.
Furthermore, this collaboration also aims to create an inclusive and practical-oriented learning environment. It is expected that this program will be able to improve the quality of the graduates and prepare them to face challenges in the world of work.
Mohammad Akhdan Bahy Dary, one of SPJL students, shares his lovely experiences while undergoing the MBKM program at PT Onodera User Run Indonesia.
“I gained a lot of invaluable experiences related to Japanese company culture during my internship at Onodera. Before, I learned about Japanese business ethics in the class, but the practical experiences at Onodera gave me an even deeper understanding. Here, I also obtained priceless knowledge about teaching methodology as a Japanese language teacher.”
Not only Mohammad Akhdan Bahy Dary, another student whose name is Febri Wibisono also actively participated in this program. During the activity, Akhdan and Wibi were focused on teaching activities such as teaching bunpo in N5 level class, teaching chokai and kanji and also goi in N4 level class.
Akhdan faced many challenges in explaining the meaning of sentence pattern (bunpo) effectively because of students’ variety of comprehension ability. To solve this problem, he used real-life example sentences and simpler metaphors for the learning process. Besides that, he struggled teaching kanji because he seldom practices his writing. To figure out this flaw, he prepares himself by writing kanji before class begins. Another problem is his lack of Japanese speaking ability, also caused by the lack of practice during his study. However, with more practice and experience, he managed to resolve those problems.
