The Community of the Study Programme of Japanese Language and Culture Alumni, Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya (FCS UB) held an Alumni Gathering event in Kyoto, Japan. The event, also attended by a lecturer of Study Programme of Japanese Language and Culture, two natives who had previously taught at Study Programme of Japanese Language and Culture UB and 20 alumni, aimed to strengthen the relationships among alumni, provided an understanding of the important role of alumni, and planned programs involving alumni for programs which will contribute to the progress of the study program and the faculty, such as being involved in lectures as a practitioner, sharing job vacancy information, being actively participating in completing tracer studies.
The event was opened with a remark from the event committee and the Alumni Gathering. Afterwards, the lecturer explained regarding the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) and the importance of the role of alumni in achieving the IKU. Tracer study was also the focus of this event, where alumni were asked to share their experiences after graduating from the study program. During this event, the new alumni management was also formed, which aimed to strengthen communication and cooperation among alumni and increase their involvement in activities that will be carried out in the future.
With a spirit of togetherness and commitment to mutual support, it is hoped that the Japanese Literature Alumni of FCS UBĀ gathering in Japan will be a good start to building a strong network and synergy between alumni, study programs and faculties in achieving common goals.
