The Faculty of Cultural Studies at Universitas Brawijaya (FCS UB) once again strengthens its international cooperation through a collaborative project with Ritsumeikan University. This time, the project focuses on the cultural richness of East Java, specifically in the field of batik, through research entitled “Digital Archiving and Visualization on the Batik of East Java”.
In the official announcement from the Art Research Center, Ritsumeikan University, it was stated that this research project has successfully passed the selection by the ARC-IJAC Review Committee. The project has obtained full support and recommendation from the committee, aligning with the principles and objectives of the research center regarding collaborative research.
Fitriana Puspita Dewi, M.Si, Ph.D., as the Project Chair, enthusiastically welcomes the success of this collaborative project. This project is a continuation of previous collaborations between FCS UB and Ritsumeikan University. Supported by various expertise from project members, including Dr. Aji Setyanto, S.S., M.Litt., a Japanese literature lecturer, I Kadek Yudi Astawan, S.Sn., M.Sn., an art lecturer, and Tibyani, S.T., M.T., an information technology lecturer, it is hoped that this project can make a significant contribution to the digital and visualization project of East Java batik.
With this partnership, it is anticipated that the cooperation between FCS UB and Ritsumeikan University will continue to evolve and yield works that benefit both parties in research and the preservation of cultural heritage.
